well, in about a month, my sister and brother in law will be making their way to colorado to start their new life. i'm happy for them... but, it still really bums me out. since my dad died, my family and i have gotten so tight. we truly just enjoy being together and being around each other. so, for my sister to be not "around the corner" anymore - kinda bums me out... pshh... who the hell am i kidding? it really bums me out.

anyway - pray for me. thanks.

helping others

Cardboard boxes as a home,
No pillow, no blanket makes them cold.
Digging in dumpsters to find scraps to eat,
No shirt on their back, no shoes on their feet.


No brothers or sisters to hug and to kiss,
No father or mother to enjoy holidays with.
No cousins to watch your back or help you grow up,
No friends to talk to, to just laugh about stuff.


So what can we do for these people in need?
We can start by finding just one to feed.
Or let’s donate some blankets to make them warm,
Or even an umbrella to keep them dry in a storm.


We can give them gifts on Christmas day,
Or every night pray to God that they’ll be okay.
Just a little bit of effort can help them a lot,
It’s really not hard to share what we’ve got.

so, has anyone else on the revolution church tear down team gotten attacked by the big, black, music stand case? that thing is evil. after all the stands dropped on my foot (yeah, i was wearing flip flops), i bent down to pick 'em up, and the top started falling and i hear keith say "watch your head!!" too little, too late! lol. it not only fell on my head, that POS (excuse my acronyms) left me a couple scratches and bruises. lol. here's what's left over... enjoy!

money or time?

i've been challenged with this dilemma. money or time?

money's great right? i mean, c'mon... having it is great. you can buy anything, do anything, experience anything. money buys a lot, but does it buy happiness? i'm gonna have to say, as much as money can do so many things, i think time is just so much more important.

time. time to spend with your family. time to dedicate to making awesome, unforgettable memories with your kids. time to laugh with people. time to just enjoy the company of a friend. time to wake your kids up in the morning with breakfast. time to tuck 'em in and kiss 'em goodnight before they go to bed. time to say "i love you" to someone and truly, wholeheartedly, mean it. time to teach someone. time to be a role model to someone who looks up to you. time to sit and reminisce with childhood friends. these are all things money can't buy.

i know so many people who are always thinkin' about them dollar signs. so much that they forget to spend time with their families. i used to envy them, for their hard work and the money to live comfortably. but then i realized that they work too much to even enjoy the REAL gifts God gave them... THE PEOPLE IN IT.

SIDENOTE: Thanks Mom & Dad for bustin' your butts to provide for us. Even more importantly, thanks for not bustin' your butts too hard to not make memories with us. I LOVE YOU (and MISS YOU, Pop).

i do not heart verizon.

SUCKS!

i wasted an hour of my time lastnight trying to figure out why my internet was running so slow. it's been a problem that i've had for about a month now, but only had time to deal with it lastnight. so i get on the phone with the verizon high speed internet's tech support. now first of all, one thing that bugs me is how companies want to brag about their "24 hour tech support", so they end up hiring hubs in other countries to be the tech support at odd hours of the night. well, in doing this, we get people on the phone that #1 can barely understand me, and #2, i can barely understand them. so already, before we could even troubleshoot the internet problem, we're trying to troubleshoot the "understanding" problem. to be honest, i'd rather wait til morning to get my issue resolved, than to have to sit on the phone, getting more frustrated because i have to repeat everything i say 56461941564 times!

anyway, back to the business at hand. my internet's been running slow, verizon people suck - so i canceled. i've been with verizon for years now and never had a problem until recently. yes, i know some of you are probably thinking, "annalynn? no internet?" lol. no worries, i have a blackberry and will be using it's tethering feature to get internet access. it's cheaper, it's mobile, and believe it or not, verizon wireless people are waaaay more nicer than verizon high-speed internet people. something about "tech support" reading from a manual what the problem is and not really knowing anything about computers and internet really bugs me. oh well. lesson learned.

LESSON: NEVER DEAL WITH VERIZON HIGH-SPEED INTERNET EVER AGAIN! haha, thanks for reading my vent session.

okay, so i'll admit, i'm an eBay junkie! i'm not ashamed! ;) well, i was browsing through some listings to see what i'd be able to purchase for the macbook pro that i bought not too long ago, and check out what i stumbled upon! i was literally in shock after i realized that this thing was actually LEGIT!! it's insane!!!


is this a trip or what? hahahaha. i could not believe it. what's next? maybe a waterproof iPod so that you can actually listen while IN the shower? technology's pretty nutty these days!

okay, i almost died laughing.

i was browsing my revolution folks blogs and stuff, and i stumbled upon jenny platt's and saw this... man oh man this is funny. oh, here's my little disclaimer: if you get offended easily, don't hit the play button. word? haha. everyone else, enjoy! ;)

wii would like to play

man oh man, this blogging thing is pretty addicting. so, about a month and a half ago, i got my hands on the very hard to find nintendo wii. talk about addicting - it's the best thing nintendo came up with, if you ask me. i'm a gamer, i must admit. not a geeky one (well, at least i don't think so), but i do like to stay somewhat in tune with the gaming world. but, the wii stands out because it's extremely interactive! it gets kids (*ahem* and adults *ahem) off their butts and moving around while having fun.


i've got a few games already. super fun ones! tennis, baseball, bowling, golf, boxing, fishing, surgery (yup, i said surgery!), call of duty 3, and this other variety game called wii play. if you wanna check it out, hit me up and we'll hang!

my pride and joy

i got my new computer last wednesday on valentine's day... oops, excuse me. i meant "single's awareness day". ;) i got a macbook pro, 2.33GHz, 17", 2GB RAM, 160GB HD, monster of a laptop! i'm so stoked! this is just a stock photo, but still just as b-e-a-uuuuutiful. ;) check her out...


not too shabby, eh? want in on a pretty awesome secret? these suckers run for $2,799.99 retail (before tax). if i were to buy one of these at one of the mac stores in los angeles county, it would've costed me $3030.99 after taxes. if i bought one in orange county, i would've had to shell out $3016.99 after taxes. guess how much i got mine for? brand new, sealed, never used... $2,519.00 BABY! YUP! I saved $500!!! talk about a good deal, eh? ;) SUH-WEET!

so, i decided to join the blogging bandwagon and start a blog of my own. maybe it'll help keep me sane. i'm better at writing than i am speaking, so hopefully this blog thing will help me with all this crazyness (sp?) going on in my life right now! we shall see.
